United Way of South Central Tennessee partnered with Volunteer Bank to host community Volunteer Days, a two-day event that brought groups together to celebrate National Volunteer Week, improving the community.
There were a total of 22 projects completed across three counties served by United Way of South Central Tennessee. Despite the rain, over one hundred volunteers came together for anything from landscaping and maintenance work to participation in a youth carnival. Nearly $10,000 was contributed to the community through volunteer time and effort.
Volunteers assisted nonprofits such as: The Journey Home, The Salvation Army, Stepping Stones Safe Haven, Doors of Hope, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center, Prevention Coalition for Success, Silly Kids Yoga, Archie’s Promise, Thriving Together TN, and Smyrna Boys and Girls Club.
Not only did Volunteer Days help improve other local nonprofits, but brought 20 organization registrations and over 200 individual registrations to Volunteer Connect, a platform sponsored by United Way of South Central Tennessee and Volunteer Bank that helps connect volunteers to nonprofits that need help. The impact of Volunteer Days is not contained to those twenty-two projects but has brought an increase in those who want to volunteer in the future.
Opportunities to get involved are not limited to those two days. If you or your organization wants to get involved in the future, you can visit Volunteer Connect to register and learn more. Check out some of the photos from this impactful day!
