Storybook Breakfast's Impact on Early Literacy

Early literacy is an important steppingstone in a child’s development because if children “can read it, they can be it,” according to Trisha Murphy, the development director for Middle Tennessee State University’s College of Education.  

Murphy understands why supporting programs like the Imagination Library is key from both her professional and personal life. She and her son, James, have participated in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the Storybook Breakfast events for many years.
