This program includes the STEAM Bus and Beat Lab that provide informal science education to under-served students. The Discovery Center’s STEAM Bus provides hands-on, discovery based science labs during the school day that compliment Tennessee Science standards. Beat Lab is an after-school club where students learn how to develop rhythmical beats and collaborate on songs and music video projects using science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.

This program is a Congressionally mandated responsibility of the American Red Cross. The initial focus is to meet the immediate needs of clients after a disaster. This program seeks to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. This is done through building quality, affordable, sustainable houses while partnering alongside low-income, working families. Homes are built by RCHFH construction staff, partner families, and community volunteers. After a home is completed, it is sold to the family at no profit with a zero interest loan.

This program provides safe, residential shelter to victims and their families of domestic abuse, stalking and sexual assault. The program provides full residential services including food and nutritional education, clothing, toiletries, and case management. Victims are able to remain in this safe shelter for up to six weeks with possible extensions in extreme cases.

This program provides an opportunity for children, ages 6-25, with special needs to participate in structured, recreational activities in a safe environment. Camp will run for seven weeks during June and July providing the only programming of its kind for children with special needs in Rutherford and surrounding counties. This program enables campers to gain self-confidence, social skills and independence while having fun and bonding with others.
